About
The first steps in the digital industry
My first ever steps in the industry of IT, development, and design was in 2018 when I was about 16. During highschool we were able to ask what we would like to learn during the IT classes, and my respond was animations and how to make a website. It was only a class of an hour, so we couldn't do that much, but that's when I made my very first GIF animation in Pixlr. And the next class, we were able to make a website in an online free website builder. It got me interested to say the least.
Step 2
Then in 2019-2020 we had the opportunity to start our own brand as a school project. And I chose a car brand, and we made a logo and affiche for it. The logo wasn't that great, but the affiche, I am still proud of until this day. The commentary that I had was "It might not be the most creative visually, but it was one of the most complete in terms of information and design." And that kind of sparked that interest slightly more.
Digital Experience Design (Interactive Multimedia Design)
In 2020, I started as a student at the Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, where I started my bachelor in Digital Experience Design. I started with the mindset of wanting to become a designer and create logos. But things turned out differently. I started to learn how to code, and I really enjoyed it. I started to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MYSQL and NodeJS. And those changed my mind, I wanted to become a developer.
Backend Development
Now in 2023, I finally decided what I wanted to do and it was backend development. The shift slowly started when I learned PHP and then it continued to shift when I learned NodeJS. And so now, I am learning more and more about backend development and I am enjoying it. I am still learning, and I am still a student, but I am looking forward to what the future holds for me.
Adventure in Estonia
Would I ever present myself as an adventurous person? No, not really. Yet I went to Estonia, on my own for Erasmus for 3 months. And it was one of the best experiences of my life. I studied Game development and Design at the Estonian University Of Applied Sciences in Tallinn. And I learned a lot about game development, and I learned a lot about myself. The most important lesson I learned was that I'm more capable than I think I am. And that I shouldn't be scared to get out of my comfort zone.
